Scholarships, college planning tips and free pizza
at Northern Virginia Community College
On Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., three Northern Virginia Community College campuses will present “College Night in Virginia,” a free event that provides college planning advice. The seminar is open to everyone no matter which colleges they are considering. Attendees can register to win one of the $500 scholarships that will be awarded by a random drawing at each location.
“College Night” will begin at 6:30 p.m. with free pizza and soda. Presentations include choosing the right college or program, understanding the financial aid process, finding scholarships, and learning about the importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Event: In honor of the student, faculty and staff veterans at the Alexandria Campus, a Veteran’s Day event will feature, David Finkel, Washington Post Reporter (Pulitzer Prize Winner) will speak on his latest publication, The Good Soldiers , an account of 15 months spent with the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (the “Rangers”), followed by a book-signing event.
