Johanna Brown, from Old Dominion University, will be conducting an information session on ODU’s doctoral program in Community College Leadership on Thursday, October 29, 2009, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, in the Ernst Community Culture Center, Seminar Room A. The session will be informal allowing faculty and staff to attend at their convenience to receive information concerning the program.
ODU is committed to providing quality classes using innovative approaches. This program is available through ODUs TELETECHNET delivery system. This enables prospective students to meet their personal and professional needs by attending classes close to home. The program is designed to prepare students for leadership positions at community colleges. Some of the unique community college leadership issues covered in the program are: the diversity of the student body, the role of the community college in the higher education system of Virginia, the role and expectations of the communities hosting the community college, and the importance of the workforce preparation the community colleges provide for the local community.
